The fine print
Published in April 2025 at ai-2027.com. Its timeline table (racing ending) puts artificial superintelligence at December 2027, and in one ending the AI kills all humans by mid-2030 (as summarised by the Guardian). The target here is the superintelligence date the scenario itself gave.
Later spin
The site later added that 2027 was the authors' modal (most likely) year and their medians were longer, and a July 2025 update pushed the median back 1.5 years. In January 2026 Kokotajlo told the Guardian progress was 'somewhat slower' and his median was around 2030.
