Halley's Comet went round the Sun and left, as it does every 76 years or so. It is due back in 2061.
The fine print
The quote is the study's summary of the prediction, so quote_is_paraphrase is true. Jensen made it in 1985; the group went public with a press release on March 22, 1986. The upheaval was to run until April 29, 1987. The study notes members began hedging with disclaimers before the date.
