The World Ends in 2280

Rashad Khalifa's Quran Numerology: 'The World Ends in 1710 AH,' Which He Converted to 2280 AD

The founder of the Submitters movement counted the Quran's initial letters, got 1709, and placed the end of the world in 1710 AH, or 2280 AD. Both, he noted, are multiples of 19.

What was said

“Thus the world ends in 1710 AH, 19x90, which coincides with 2280 AD, 19x120.”

— Rashad Khalifa (biochemist; founder, United Submitters International, Tucson) · said 1989 · due 1710 AH (2280 AD)

Due in 2280, which leaves 254 years. Khalifa's count of the Quranic initials totals 1709.

The fine print

From Appendix 25 of Khalifa's translation, Quran: The Final Testament, as published by Masjid Tucson. The method: add the gematrical values of the 14 sets of Quranic initials to get 1709, so the world ends in 1710 AH; the 'discovery' in 1400 AH (1980) plus 300 solar years gives 2280.
